I still don't get algebra

Hello all. I haven't died or anything (knock on wood), but I've been crazy busy with homework that is numbing my brain. I didn't buy my books used, as they did not have any. All the classes changed to new editions, so there were no used ones. I think this is a conspiracy to rip hardworking students off of a whole lot of money that they don't really have to spend. Grr.

The weather is getting better around here. It's getting downright cold at night, and there's a cold front coming through in a day that will drop highs down to 62 degrees. Oh yeah. I love cool weather.

Oh yeah. I forgot an update on the homestead here. We've been spackling small places on the walls, doing small random repairs, and trimming bushes and cleaning up the yard. We've bought new curtains, hung up some pictures, and I'm really starting to love it. This Saturday we're buying this awesome storm door, that the screen rolls up and disappears when you don't want it down. It's also got a crazy good lock, so it's a good security measure too. Even though nothing vaguely crime-like happens around here. It is very quiet. But aaanyway, we're also getting a garage door opener, and we're pulling out a few unruly bushes, mowing the yard, killing the dandelions (Mom hates them) and doing some painting inside. It feels like home. It's also a shorter drive to school from here than it was at our old apartment. That hideous cigarette smoke smell is quickly fading, and my cats love it here. They flop down in the sunshine in either our huge living room, huge kitchen or by the bed in the master bedroom. They love the light and the space, and they don't hear the any neighbors banging around in the opposite apartments, so they're much more at ease. We all are, though, so it's good.

I have tomorrow off from school. Woohoo! I can sleep in. Sort of. I'm too used to getting up extra early, so I sit straight up in bed and yell "What time is it?!!" Pretty frequently. Stupid fear of being late to class.
