Eventful weekend

Today wasn't half bad. It rained like crazy and flooded my sidewalk. My uncle came over, which is always fun, and we ordered huge pizzas and mass amounts of Coca cola.

Tomorrow we are making a historical family favorite, Pasties. Yummy pork, beef and various sundry vegetables inside a lovely dough shell. Very popular with Welsh coal miners hundreds of years ago. They didn't have very much room to take their meat, potatoes and bread with them, so some ingenious person came up with the idea to make it all together. It worked then and it still works now.

Great with ketchup. Email me for the recipe if you're interested.

As I mentioned in yesterday's pointless entry, we will be attending the British Isles festival Sunday. Should be great fun, and my Uncle is checking prices on bagpipes. Seriously. He says if he could find one cheap enough to buy, he'd learn to play. I don't think I want to be around when he's learning. It could possibly be quite scary.

My brother has had terrible earaches for years, and tonight he had another one. It's taken him this long to fall asleep, and he is in such bad pain. We put some warmed sweet oil in his ear, and added a cotton ball, but it took such a long time to kick in that I'm not 100% sure it worked. The bad thing is I've got to wake the poor baby up to take him upstairs to bed. I feel bad because I'm sure he'll be in pain again until he gets to sleep again. On the other hand, I know he'd freak out if I left him alone downstairs. So up to bed he'll go, I just hope he can falls asleep soon afterward.

My good cough friend B got caught for underage alcohol a month ago. She says her older friend bought it but forgot to take it with him when he got out of the car. The police officer was doing a random routine stop and found said alcohol.

With her baby, she's lucky she was let off with a fine. She could have gotten 90 days to 6 months in jail.

I just do not know about that girl sometimes. People sure do change as they get older. For some reason that fact surprises me.
